NIPR KICKS OFF ACTIVITIES TO MARK IT'S 2023 LAGOS PR WEEK AND AGM

The Lagos Public Relations Week will commence on September 15 and will end on Thursday, September 21, 2023, under the theme: 'Innovation and Disruption: Unlocking Opportunities for PR Practice'.

The announcement was made on Thursday, September 7, 2023, by the Lagos State Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Comfort Nwankwo, Chairman, NIPR, Lagos chapter while addressing a press conference.

While using the forum to equally make public the commencement of its 34th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and annual lecture, Nwankwo said, “This event kicked off today with a mentoring session for communication undergraduates in Lagos tertiary institutions.

“Lagos PR Week will run from September 15th to Thursday, September 21st, 2023, under the theme: "Innovation and Disruption: Unlocking Opportunities for PR Practice.

“On Friday, September 15, 2023, we will have a PR Practitioners Evening of Cocktail, featuring engaging discussions on the future of PR, networking opportunities, music, and premier entertainment. This event will bring together key figures from Nigeria’s PR Industry and the Media.

“Saturday, September 16, 2023, is dedicated to Health Awareness for PR Practitioners, friends, and family. Enjoy recreational activities including a health walk, health check, football challenge, aerobics, fanfare, tug of war, and more. There would be a friendly match between NIPR Lagos and NIJ teams at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Ogba, starting at 7:30 a.m.

“The grand finale of the PR Week is on Thursday, September 21, 2023, featuring the Annual Lecture, AGM, and general elections, all centred around the theme 'Innovation and Disruption: Unlocking Opportunities for PR Practice'. This event will take place at Agip Recital Hall, Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos, starting at 10 am.”

Nwankwo also shared the chapter's upcoming events for the remainder of the year as follows: 

1. PR Digital Summit: Expected between October 18th and 19th at Sheraton Hotel, Lagos.

2. Lagos PR Industry Gala and Award (LaPRIGA): Save the date – December 15th, 2023.
