Mr Idorenyen Enang fnimn President and Chairman in Council NIMN

The need to re-engineer the ecosystem for marketing to reflect the changing times was what necessitated the theme for this year’s Annual National Institute of Marketing in Nigeria (NIMN) Conference tagged “Driving Business Sustainability in the Age of Data and Technology”.

Addressing a select crop of Journalists at the Institute’s National Secretariat in Lagos recently,

Mr Idorenyen Enang fnimn President and Chairman in Council introduced his team and went on to announce that the National Institute of Marketing in Nigeria is going through a rebirth and that rebirth is starting from the mind, the quality of dialogue, conversation and the people. With the disruption of marketing globally by Technology, the President challenged his team to focus on shifts that has occurred globally with the world coming out of a pandemic which is now endemic by understanding that businesses have had to pivot seriously over the last two years.

Speaking further on this, Chioma Afe, fnimn Chairperson and AGM Planning Subcommittee says Telcos have pivoted over the last five years because Telecommunications business is now viewed as a platform ecosystem type businesses where they are changing the narratives, looking at payments, financial inclusions, ecommerce and so many other facets and this influenced the choice of a keynote speaker from that sector for this year’s Conference.

Innovation and Disruption are key fundamentals in most sectors including Marketing and as a sectoral group, NIMN would drive conversations that are geared towards delivering excellence in the industry.
